A nighttime drone strike in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region bordering Russia killed three people, including an 8-year-old boy, Governor Oleh Hryhorov said. said Tuesday.
Hryhorov said on Telegram that Russian drones attacked a village in the Verkhnia Syrovatka region around midnight, damaging 30 residential buildings and several cars and causing a large-scale fire.
The body of the 8-year-old boy was removed from the rubble of a damaged building, Hryhorov added. The child's mother, sister and grandmother were also injured. Six other people, including three children, were injured in the drone attack and are currently hospitalized. Hryhorov said the three deceased victims all lived on the same street, while police and emergency services worked on the scene. according to at the Kyiv Independent.
